Links and information for SBAC Testing
Steps to prepare for SBAC testing before your scheduled testing window:
1. Make sure that the computer you will use to administer the SBAC test has the browser popups turned off. (This is your school provided staff laptop or computer. No special secure browser is needed for staff computers to adminster the test.)
2. Obtain a copy of the SBAC Testing script pp. 49-58 to read to the students at the beginning of the test. Click on this link to get to the document. (Directions for Administration from California Online Field Test Administration Manual (TAM) Updated March 13, 2014)
3. Obtain one copy the SBAC Student Testing Keyboard Commands for each student in your test session. Click on this link to get the document. Review this information with your students.
4. Obtain a copy of the SBAC Classroom Activity and Performance Task Guidelines from your site test coordinators. Click on this link to get to the classroom activities.

Fourth Grade: Math - Field Trip
Fifth Grade: ELA - Marine Animals

6. Practice going to the CAASPP SBAC PORTAL. Click on this link to get to the 2014 CAASPP SBAC Portal. Bookmark for easy access during testing. Make sure the top right corner says "Field Test CA".

7. Click on the center option "TA Interface for California Users". Login using your SRVUSD full email address and password. For example: [email protected]
Note: Do not start a live testing session while you are practicing using the tools. After you have verified that you can access the live administrator test site, log out.

8. Practice obtaining a test session id and approving students. Click on this link to go to the practice test administration site.
9. For both practice and actual testing, follow the directions in this link to create a test ID, approve students and start a testing session.
"Spaces Enabled" Error Message
Note: If a student is using the secure browser for testing and gets the spaces enabled error message, please make these changes:
1. Logout of the secure browser.
2. Go to System Preferences (Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner of your window. Choose "System Preferences" from the drop down list.
3. Select "Keyboard"
4. Select "Mission Control"
5. Click to uncheck the boxes under Mission Control and also turn off the F11 and F12 options. (See screen shot.)
6. Have student start the secure browser and log back into their testing session.
Note: If a student is using the secure browser for testing and gets the spaces enabled error message, please make these changes:
